Minnesota gets serious about alternative pavements

Even though green-minded concrete has been used in the southeastern U.S., it has been mentioned around Minnesota only in recent years. Water pollution from storm water runoff has become more of an issue because of tougher regulations in 2003 from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Runoff has been linked to higher phosphorus levels in Minnesota’s lakes and rivers. (more…)

$500,000 Recovery - Defendant using forklift to load pallet with 3000 lbs of newspaper bundles negligently damages bottom slot, resulting in hand truck used by plaintiff stopping short.

The plaintiff truck driver, who was pulling a hand pallet jack containing 3000 pounds of newspaper bundles onto his truck from the loading dock, contended that the defendant, whose employee placed the pallet containing the bundles onto the pallet jack with a forklift, negligently damaged the bottom slot during the loading process. The plaintiff contended that the hand truck jammed and stopped short - Nerve damage to brachial plexus and partial paralysis to dominant arm. (more…)

Lynch Plant Invests In Five More Terex Trucks

Lynch Plant Hire, has purchased five additional Terex TA30 articulated trucks, taking their total Terex dump trucks to 30 units. This new investment comes as a result of increased construction projects in the London area, according to Merrill Lynch, Operations Director for Lynch Plant.

Dunbar Works purchases two Terex TR100 rigid trucks.

Dunbar Works, the only cement works in Scotland, has recently purchased two Terex TR100 rigid trucks to assist in the restoration of quarry areas where limestone has been removed. Lafarge Cement, who owns the works, is demonstrating a commitment to continually improving its business though such sustainable development.
